Questions about Dolphin Encounter + Turtle Centre
What interactions are included in the Encounter?+
From the shallow platform you will touch the dolphins, receive a kiss, share a hug, and watch a short educational presentation about dolphin behavior and care. It is the most relaxed and family-friendly program, with no swimming required at any point.
Which program is right for my group?+
Not sure which to choose? Here is a quick guide. The Encounter (from $129) has no swimming required, great for non-swimmers, grandparents, and guests who prefer a dry-platform experience. The Swim Adventure (from $159) goes into deeper water with a board push and belly ride alongside one dolphin, ideal for active swimmers who want more action. The Royal Swim (from $199) is the most exhilarating option: a dorsal-fin tow and foot push with two dolphins simultaneously. The Private Platform ($1,990 for up to 10 guests) gives your whole group a private session with professional photos included. All programs welcome children and include complimentary Cayman Turtle Centre entrance. Message us and we will help you pick the right one.
What is the children's policy?+
All four programs welcome children. Babies aged 0 to 3 join free. Kids aged 4 to 12 pay kids rates: $99 for the Encounter, $139 for the Swim Adventure, or $159 for the Royal Swim. Which program your child qualifies for depends on height. Children under 48 inches (1.21 m) participate in the Encounter, accompanied by one paying adult. Children between 48 and 55 inches (1.21 to 1.39 m) may join any swim program with one paying adult. Children taller than 55 inches (1.39 m) book at adult rates and participate independently. Life vests are provided and required for all.
Can pregnant women participate?+
Women who are 5 months or more into their pregnancy cannot participate in any aquatic program. Women in their first 4 months of pregnancy may participate in the Encounter only, accompanied by another adult and after signing a Responsibility Form at the facility.
Are there age or health restrictions?+
Adults aged 60 to 79 may participate in all programs, including swim programs, as long as they are physically independent, have no medical or mobility issues, and know how to swim. Adults aged 80 and older may only participate in the Dolphin Encounter. If you have any health condition or physical disability, contact us before booking and we will check eligibility with the facility.
What time should we arrive, and when do programs run?+
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your program for check-in and a safety briefing. Programs run daily at 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Dolphin Discovery is located about 10 km from George Town, roughly 20 to 30 minutes by taxi.
Is the Cayman Turtle Centre included?+
Yes. Your Dolphin Discovery ticket includes complimentary entry to the Cayman Turtle Centre, located right next door. You can hold green sea turtles and explore the marine exhibits before or after your dolphin program at no extra cost.
Are photos included?+
Photos and video packages are sold separately on-site. Personal cameras and phones are not allowed in the water for safety reasons, so the on-site photo team captures your experience for you. If you want photos included for your entire group, the Private Platform package covers everyone.
What travelers say
★ 4.7 · 2100 reviews"We brought our four-year-old and were nervous, but the trainers were incredible with her. She stood on the platform, petted the dolphin, and got a kiss on the cheek. She cried when it was time to leave. Best thing we did in Cayman."

"I have mobility limitations and wasn't sure I'd be able to do this. The staff helped me every step of the way. The platform interaction means no swimming required. The dolphins are curious, gentle, and absolutely magical up close."

"The Cayman Turtle Centre entry that comes with this was a great surprise. Two completely different experiences in one morning. The dolphins were the emotional peak, but the turtles were fascinating too. Trainers were professional and clearly love these animals."
